Ovarian Hormones

The ovary is the egg producing female reproductive organ. There are two ovaries and they are located lateral each side of the uterus. The ovaries are hormone producing making them part of the endocrine system.

Ovarian Hormones:

  • testosterone

  • progesterone

  • estrogen

The hormone system is a delicate orchestration as each hormone works together in the system within a biofeedback loop. It's best to avoid taking exogenous hormones (including bioidentical hormones) as they can throw the system further out of balance. If there is hormone decline, it is always best to address the gland involved and repair normal function if and when possible.
