Tongue Bone

April 30, 2017

The hyoid bone (or tongue-bone) is located in the anterior midline of the neck between the chin and the thyroid cartilage.

It is a floating muscle that supports swallowing and tongue movement. Impaired function of the hyoid bone may result in speech abnormalities, mastication challenges, or sleep apnea.
