Our Immunity Rock Star
The lymphatic system consists of three parts:
â–º vessels: the network of drainage pathways that carries the lymph fluid
â–º fluid: interstitial fluid inside the vessels is called lymph
â–º nodes: part of the lymphoid organ system included with spleen, thymus, adenoids, and tonsils
The lymphatic system is involved in immunity and defense. Lymph is very similar to blood plasma but contains lymphocytes and other white blood cells which are the troops of the immune system.
Swollen lymph nodes are a response to illness, infection, or stress and are a sign that your lymphatic system is working to rid your body of the responsible agents.
Understanding our body and how to improve or repair its normal function is essential in treatment of chronic conditions and in maintaining optimal health.
